On Saturday, April 1, bestselling Florida author, Randy Wayne White, will be here autographing his latest book in the Doc Ford series, Mangrove Lighting.

Doc Ford has been involved in many strange cases. This may be one of the strangest. A legendary charter captain and guide named Tootsie Barlow has come to him, muttering about a curse. The members of his extended family have suffered a bizarre series of attacks, and Barlow's convinced it has something to do with a multiple murder in 1925, in which his family had a shameful part.

Ford doesn't believe in curses, but as he and his friend Tomlinson begin to investigate, following the trail of the attacks from Key Largo to Tallahassee, they, too, suffer a series of near-fatal mishaps. Is it really a curse? Or just a crime spree? The answer lies in solving a near-hundred-year-old murder...and probing the mind of a madman.

This new collection of twenty-six stories includes eighteen previously published, hard-to-find gems and eight new tales. Artist Jeanne Clark Meinke illuminates the pages with her new and selected drawings to form a book sure to become a favorite.

The book tells the “stories behind the stories” of some of America’s greatest reporting—winners of the coveted Pulitzer Prize for Public Service.  The author is veteran reporter Roy J. Harris Jr., who spent more than 35 years in The Wall Street Journal and Economist organizations.  Harris, who has written about the Pulitzer Prizes for St. Petersburg’s own Poynter Institute for a dozen years, has been called by Bob Woodward “the master historian of the Pulitzer Prize.” Says the Washington Post’s famed reporter, “He has written the real inside story of the most serious journalism of the last century and provided a brilliant portrait of America.”

On a moonless night on Sanibel Island, Florida, marine biologist Marion “Doc” Ford carefully watches a video of a hooded man executing three hostages. The man is an American working with ISIS, and in the next few days, it’ll be Ford’s job, as part of his shadowy second life, to make sure he never kills anybody else again.  But a lot can go wrong in a few days, and Ford has no way of knowing that not only will the operation prove to be a lot more complicated than he has anticipated, but that he’ll end up bringing those complications back with him to the small community of boaters, guides, lovers, and friends in Dinkin’s Bay where he’s long made his home. Someone has taken Ford’s actions very personally... and now no one there is safe—least of all, Ford himself.

On Saturday, March 15th, author and photographer Bill Young will be here at 3pm to sign his new book Going for the Gold: A Journey With the Women's Airforce Service Pilots and their Congressional Gold Medal. One of the original WASP pilots will also be here to sign books.

At the same time, the day's transportation theme will extend out to our parking lot where members of the St. Pete Antique Car Club will be displaying some of their choice autos for public view.

Joining him will be Florida outdoor writer and cultural documentarian Jeff Klinkenberg signing his latest book, Alligators in B-Flat.

Time constraints will limit Diana to signing only those titles recently purchased from Haslam's.  Once all those fans are met and books are signed, should time permit, she is happy to sign any earlier works bought previously elsewhere.
